How to make an API call in the Playground

Just follow these instructions to generate an access token. Once you do that, you can simulate an API call and the code will appear here.

STEP 1
LINE OF BUSINESS

Choose a line of business based on the product you plan to use. For example, if you want customers to link their checking accounts inside your app, choose “Retail Bank.”

STEP 2
CATEGORY

Pick the category your product or service falls under. If you want users to open or manage an account, then Accounts is the right category for you.

STEP 3
API PRODUCT

Select the API product you want to implement.

STEP 4
ENDPOINT

Since each API product breaks down into different components, i.e. endpoints, you’ll need to select one to continue. Just a reminder: each endpoint is associated with an authorization method, so we display them together.

STEP 5
TESTING REFERENCE

Depending on which endpoint/authorization method you choose, you’ll then be asked to select an account type or testing persona, or to create the token with test credit card details that we’ll provide.

Make your selections

If you make a change to one field, it will affect the others.

× There may be more than one line of business within each market.
× We’ve grouped our API products into categories based on general use.
× An API product is the feature you want to implement. It’s made up of multiple endpoints that each perform a specific function.
× An API product breaks down into different endpoints. Every endpoint performs a unique task and is linked to an authorization method.
Just a reminder: If you change endpoints and it has a different authorization method, you’ll need to create a new access token.
×
Authorization method
× If you plan to use 2-legged authorization, we’ll need to know which type of account you want to test. If you plan to use 3-legged, we’ll ask you to choose a test persona and then log in with the provided username and password, which will simulate the API call experience.
